Malachi

This portion of Al-Kitab takes its name from its author, Prophet Malachi. He lived at a time when the rebuilding of the Holy House in Jerusalem had been already completed and the services of worship were happening on a regular basis. As time passed, Bani-Israel began to depart from the Lord God once again. The spiritual problems mentioned in this scripture are the same ones noted in Nehemiah: intermarriage with disbelievers, improper use of money, failure to give towards the work of God, and an attitude of rejection of spiritual things. After Prophet Malachi’s time, about 400 years pass in the history of Bani-Israel before another prophet finally appears. For more information, see Luke chapters 1 to 3 in the holy Injil.
