This section contains 44 chapters. Fifteen are ascribed to Dawud (pbuh) and one to Prophet Sulayman (Zabur 127). These chapters praise the Lord for His word. Thanksgiving is the major theme of this book. Allah wants the most perfect sacrifice of all, our faithfulness and obedience to His revealed will.
This is similar to the book of Deuteronomy since it speaks of a new beginning in the Promised Land. These chapters express the thoughts, prayers, and experiences of God’s people in exile, and their return to Jerusalem.
Zabur 107 is the introduction to the section. It acknowledges the delivering power of Allah. Zabur 145 to 150 express thanks to God in every possible way for His goodness towards His people. Alhamdulillah (praise the Lord) ends this final section as a note of joyfulness and gladness.
