A Psalm by Dawud.
1Ascribe to Allah, you sons of the mighty,
Ascribe to Allah glory and strength.
2Ascribe to Allah the glory due to his name.
Worship Allah in holy array.
3Allah’s voice is on the waters.
The God of glory thunders, even Allah on many waters.
4Allah’s voice is powerful.
Allah’s voice is full of majesty.
5The voice of Allah breaks the cedars.
Yes, Allah breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6He makes them also to skip like a calf;
Lebanon and Sirion like a young, wild ox.
7Allah’s voice strikes with flashes of lightning.
8Allah’s voice shakes the wilderness.
Allah shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
9Allah’s voice makes the deer calve,
And strips the forests bare.
In his temple everything says, “Glory!“
10Allah sat enthroned at the Flood.
Yes, Allah sits as King forever.
11Allah will give strength to his people.
Allah will bless his people with peace.
