Exodus is the name of the second section of the Holy Taurat. The name “Exodus” means “exit” or “departure”. Exodus records the birth of Prophet Musa (pbuh) at a time when Bani-Israel (the descendants of Prophet Yaqub) were living as slaves in Egypt. It tells of the plagues Allah Rabb-al-alamin brought upon Firaun and his people. It also relates how Allah allowed Israel to cross the Red Sea on dry land and escape their bondage in Egypt. Later, Allah Ta’ala meets with Prophet Musa (pbuh) on the holy mountain and gives his shariah, written on tables of stone. It concludes with instructions on how Bani-Israel is to worship Allah acceptably.
