There are 31 chapters in this section. Prophet Dawud (pbuh) penned 18 of them, Prophet Sulayman (pbuh) wrote 1 (Zabur 72), and the rest are said to be written by “the sons of Qarun” (or Korah). These Psalms were compiled for worship services in the Holy House in Jerusalem.
This is called the Exodus section, for in them we get a sense of the nation in ruin but calling out to Allah for deliverance. They speak of how the Lord is able to rescue His people.
Zabur 42 sets the scene by crying out for the Lord’s presence in a dry wilderness experience. The prophet continually prays to Allah for deliverance from the enemy who is oppressing their soul. The book finishes with a prayer of Prophet Sulayman (Zabur 72). The final verses also praise Allah for His power and might, and His glory. There is the double Amen again.
