1<\/sup>This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God1<\/a><\/sup> created man, he made him in God’s likeness. 2<\/sup>He made them male and female,2<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0and blessed them, and called them\u00a0“Man,”3<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0in the day when they were created.\u00a03<\/sup>Adam\u00a0lived 130 years, and became the father of a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him\u00a0Seth.\u00a04<\/sup>The days of\u00a0Adam\u00a0after he became the father of\u00a0Seth\u00a0were 800 years, and he became the father of sons and daughters.\u00a05<\/sup>All the days that\u00a0Adam\u00a0lived were 930 years, then he died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6<\/sup>Seth lived 105 years, and became the father of Enosh. 7<\/sup>Seth lived after he became the father of Enosh 807 years, and became the father of sons and daughters. 8<\/sup>All the days of Seth were 912 years, then he died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9<\/sup>Enosh lived 90 years, and became the father of Kenan. 10<\/sup>Enosh lived after he became the father of Kenan, 815 years, and became the father of sons and daughters. 11<\/sup>All the days of Enosh were 905 years, then he died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12<\/sup>Kenan lived 70 years, and became the father of Mahalalel. 13<\/sup>Kenan lived after he became the father of Mahalalel 840 years, and became the father of sons and daughters 14<\/sup>and all the days of Kenan were 910 years, then he died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

15<\/sup>Mahalalel lived 65 years, and became the father of Jared. 16<\/sup>Mahalalel lived after he became the father of Jared 830 years, and became the father of sons and daughters. 17<\/sup>All the days of Mahalalel were 895 years, then he died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

18<\/sup>Jared lived 162 years, and became the father of\u00a0Idris.4<\/a><\/sup>\u00a019<\/sup>Jared lived after he became the father of\u00a0Idris\u00a0800 years, and became the father of sons and daughters.\u00a020<\/sup>All the days of Jared were 962 years, then he died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

21<\/sup>Idris\u00a0lived 65 years, and became the father of Methuselah.\u00a022<\/sup>Idris walked with God after he became the father of Methuselah 300 years, and became the father of sons and daughters. 23<\/sup>All the days of Idris\u00a0were 365 years.\u00a024<\/sup>Idris walked with God, and he was not, because God took him.5<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

25<\/sup>Methuselah lived 187 years, and became the father of Lamech. 26<\/sup>Methuselah lived after he became the father of Lamech 782 years, and became the father of sons and daughters. 27<\/sup>All the days of Methuselah were 969 years, then he died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

28<\/sup>Lamech lived 182 years, and became the father of a son,\u00a029<\/sup>and he named him\u00a0Nuh,6<\/a><\/sup> saying,\u00a0“<\/em>This one will comfort us in our work and in the toil of our hands, because of the ground which YAHWEH7<\/a><\/sup> has cursed.”\u00a030<\/sup>Lamech lived after he became the father of\u00a0Nuh\u00a0595 years, and became the father of sons and daughters.\u00a031<\/sup>All the days of Lamech were 777 years, then he died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

32<\/sup>Nuh was 500 years old, and Nuh became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. 5:1 God<\/em>, English translation of elohim<\/em>. Elohim<\/em> (Hebrew) is related to allah<\/em> (Arabic) and alaha<\/em> (Syriac), all of which translate as “God,” and refer to the one true God. \u21a9\ufe0e<\/a><\/li>
